$250,000 to $300,000
Fresh off of showcasing its pre-production Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe at the Detroit Auto Show, parent company BMW is already on to its next project -- production of a smaller Rolls Royce sedan positioned for the downmarket.
Affectionately called by some "baby rolls", the model is expected to get its own distinct platform and will not be modeled after the BMW 7-Series or the Phantom. It hasn't been decided yet what engine will power the car but options include a V12 used in the Phantom, an existing engine from BMW, or an all new engine.
The new model will be produced at a plant in Goodwood in the United Kingdom and will be priced between $250,000 to $300,000. Don't expect to see it out on the roads until 2010.
